Leadership in the Workplace for Adolescents

During this fun and interactive training, young people will have the opportunity to learn invaluable skills for becoming a leader in the workplace. Over 200  teenagers have completed this program through the local area WIA. Fast paced, outdoors and active are the means by which teens learn best. The 36 hour curriculum is taught by experienced trainers that encourage the potential and the metamorphosis that takes place during a very intense week together. The content is covered using fun, experiential methods that allow time for practicing new skills. The week is designed to closely mimic a "real life" working situation. There's a boss, a supervisor, time cards, paperwork, anecdotal records, personnel files, a paycheck and a bonus for outstanding performance!

Topics covered include:

  •          Understanding Yourself and Teams
  •          Communication and conflict resolution
  •          Cultural enrichment and diversity
  •          Personal and Professional goal setting
  •          Professionalism and Customer Service

Youth complete the course with a workplace skills checklist, a portfolio, a certificate of completion and a supervisor's performance review.
